Nate Silver
Nate Silver is the founder and editor in Chief of FiveThirtyEight. Silver still produces articles and analyzes for the company. Nate first gained recognition for creating a system for predicting the performance and career development of professional baseball players. Nate later founded FiveThirtyEight in November of 2007, a blog where he discussed politics and made accurate predictions on future election outcomes. Silver later sold FiveThirtyEight to ESPN but still remains extremely active within the company. Nate Silver has a very distinctive style of writing, almost all of his titles for his pieces are broad statements which engage interest, or questions which are later answered within the passage. He uses a very educated and elevated tone which is influenced by strong diction which not only build his argument(s), but credibility as well. The majority of these posts revolve around politics, specifically polls of some sort.
Ben Casselman
Ben Casselman is the Chief economics writer and senior editor for FiveThirtyEight. Casselman is a regular contributor to FiveThirtyEight and is involved in many of the blog posts within this site its self. Casselman's articles are often titled with general or broad statements or questions. These statements are then answered by another general statement at the beginning of the article. Throughout the article, Casselman argues his point with strong statistics and academic diction. Ben Casselman also incorporates his own political beliefs subtly within the articles. His articles are filled with implied political bias which not only is incorporated through appeals to pathos, but syntax as well.
